you have some potential problems here

1; you sign contract saying you are responsible;

3; the contract will ask who is driving?

4; you wont be in the rental if it is in an accident;

you have effectively misrepresented yourself on the contract for the rental ;

now if he has an accident, they may look to your policy for damages to the rental since you signed for responsibility, but your company when they find out you were never in the rental, nor planned to be, might consider this fraud (misrepresentation) and could deny any claims;

if your friend has liability insurance, then it should transfer to the rental if in an accident if found at fault;

my suggestion is have your friend take out coverage for the rental only; its not cheap, but much cheaper than paying for the rental car damages and possibly for any damages or injuries to other vehicles or persons if in an accident and found at fault;

you have effectively skewed yourself upon a stipulate for a let ;

now if he has an accident, they competence demeanour to your process for indemnification to a let given we sealed for responsibility, though your association when they find out we were never in a rental, nor programmed to be, competence cruise this rascal (misrepresentation) as well as could repudiate any claims;

if your crony has guilt insurance, afterwards it should send to a let if in an collision if found during fault;

my idea is have your crony take out coverage for a let only; a not cheap, though most cheaper than profitable for a let car indemnification as well as presumably for any indemnification or injuries to alternative vehicles or persons if in an collision as well as found during fault;

Three things that you should never do:

1. Lend money to anyone

2. Cosign a loan for anyone

3. Go against your better judgment

Have your friend add full coverage to his vehicle for the time he is renting the rental car. It will be a lot cheaper that way as well as it will be in his own name.

You'd probably be held responsible since you weren't the one driving, or even in, the car. The insurance fee should be paid just to cover any accidents that do occur, just in case. Call the rental company and tell them you have questions in re: rental policies, they won't know who you are as you don't have to give your name out just to ask questions.

I would make sure that I bought accident insurance through the rental agency on the rental car.You'd better check with your insurance company before doing this.. they may not cover this situation.. I really doubt they will.. and if your friend is in an accident you will be responsible for all damages.Of course you will have to tell the rental company that you will not be driving the car.

I would have certain which we paid for collision word by a let group upon a let car.You’d improved check with your word association prior to we do this.. they might not cover this situation.. we unequivocally disbelief they will.. as well as if your crony is in an collision we will be obliged for all damages.Of march we will have to discuss it a let association which we will not be pushing a car.

If you sign for the car, you will be responsible for everything and anything that happens to it. Generally they won't allow you to rent and then let someone under the age of 25 drive the vehicle anyway. The coverage on your car may or may not cover a rental car, but it surely won't cover one you rented but are not driving. Borrow a slogan from the anti-drug campaign of many years ago...Just say NO.

Oh, and if you are thinking "But he's my friend..." don't. If he was really your friend, he wouldn't be asking you to put yourself into a situation like that.

If we pointer for the car, we will be obliged for all as well as anything which happens to it.
As a world traveler I rent many cars and I can say,don't do it.
Under no circumstances is this something anyone should.
If you do, list him as a driver and somebody pay for full coverage at the agency. One wreck, or one ticket by him could put you in serious TROUBLE. If you rent it even if you buy insurance and don't list him as a driver, it could and probably will void the insurance policy. Bob

If we lease it even if we buy word as well as do not list him as a driver, it could as well as substantially will blank a word policy. Bob

Does your friend have a credit card? If so, let him rent it himself. Most credit cards will offer automatic insurance on rentals if you use the card to pay for the rental. Notice I said most, so don't assume - double check with your credit card company.

If he doesn't have a card and you want to let him use your card, that is possible, but don't try to do it in a tricky way. Check with your credit card company and ask them if they will cover a vehicle that you rent for someone else to use. It may carry over regardless. It is always better to be safe than sorry. :-)

Most credit cards will suggest involuntary word upon rentals if we operate the label to compensate for the rental.
If he doesn’t have the label as well as we wish to let him operate your card, which is possible, though do not try to do it in the wily way.
